Southerners are known for making the best iced sweet tea, cheese straws, shortbreads and tassies. Included are numerous recipes for iced sweet teas. Cheese straws are a holiday staple and are served at all types of parties and gatherings. Tassies are a cream cheese crust miniature pie and are made either sweet or savory. Shortbread is described in many different ways in the south. Some refer to them as cheese straws or savory wafers and others think of sweet cookies. Any way you slice it, southern shortbread is always delicious. Shortbread can be sweet or savory but always full of buttery goodness. I have also included several of my favorite recipes using tea. Recipes such as Grilled Sweet Tea Brined Chicken, Tea Poached Chicken Salad, Scallops With Sweet Tea Chile Sauce, Sweet Tea Tiramisu and Vanilla Sour Cream Tea Cake.
